Interesting story about life in the Roman military in the late Julio-Claudian imperial period. Nice depiction of lives of ordinary Romans and the brutal life of a soldier. Nicely written story. Personally, I think it ended too soon but then books these days all seem to be stretched into multiple books for revenue enhancement. The character development was good but not exceptional.I enjoyed the read.

Phenomenal read that I could not put down, another winner from this author!
Interesting story about life in the Roman military in the late Julio-Claudian imperial period. Nice depiction of lives of ordinary Romans and the brutal life of a soldier. Nicely written story. Personally, I think it ended too soon but then books these days all seem to be stretched into multiple books for revenue enhancement. The character development was good but not exceptional.
