History is told from one person’s perspective. Sometimes they don’t get it right.
Ugly Stepsister Anna has wrongly been accused of being mean and evil. Now it is time she got the opportunity to tell her side of the story.
With Cinderella so perfect and wonderful, it is no wonder Anna feels ugly in comparison. Dealing with bullies, a grumpy mother and the death of her step-father, Anna is at her wits end.
When the Prince’s ball approaches, Anna is told she must find a husband to save the family fortune. Attending with her sisters, the sulky Prince Charming only has eyes for Cinderella.
With the burden of being the only one to unite her step-sister with the Prince, will Anna act as cupid? Or will she protect Cinderella from the arrogant Charming?
A charming twist to the story of Cinderella, told completely from the point of view of the Ugly Step-Sister.

Cinderella is Evil The Fairy Tales Retold Series Book 1 eBook Jamie Campbell
Cinderella is Evil is a re-telling of Cinderella where Cinderella is not actually evil.I liked the story but didn't fall madly in love with it. It turns the entire Cinderella story into a series of misunderstandings amongst a family still grieving the loss of their father/step-father/husband. It does keep the general theme of the king hosts a dance to find his son a wife. The prince does find a woman then loses her, the only clue to her identity being a slipper.
This version is told from the perspective of one of Cinderella's step-sisters. A step-sister who has always felt ugly and unnoticed leaving her to envy Cinderella, even as she does love her.
I'm not sure what could have moved this book from okay to great. Maybe if it were longer (this is a novella) and more refined. I was waiting for someone to actually be evil. For drama that didn't seem forced.

Cinderella is Evil The Fairy Tales Retold Series Book 1 eBook Jamie Campbell Reviews
Cinderella, as portrayed doesn't really come across as truly evil. Cindy, as her close personal friends call her, well only behind closed doors and out of ear shot, is simply misunderstood. Cinderella is very beautiful and is surrounded by stepsisters, that are at best just average. Certainly as a step, child or sister, there are tensions, stresses, misunderstandings and behaviors that can be viewed from a different perspective. But evil, truly evil, Evil with a big E? I think not but that's just me and she is very, very pretty, I'm sure you'll understand and you will know if you take a moment, read the facts, just remember she is very, very lovely.
Dare I say this is a cute, well written story, I will and yes it is. The characters as presented are, even though well known, subtly different while still believably written. The events do parallel the original and thus feel believable within the original fairy tale's framework. I just didn't think she came across particularly evil. She's portrayed more like a narcissistic, possibly petulant and unpleasant in a very 70's, 80's, 90's ... beautiful cheerleader ( Yes that old clichéd characterization) " IN " girl, spoiled and entitled and the center of all things, way. So while a cute story, I did expect a darker more evil portrayal of Cinderella. But given that Cinderella is very, very beautiful ( I saw her once at Disneyland and it is true) open and warm. All of that, along with Cinderella's, approachable Disney fairy tale princess personality, may have limited or altered Jamie Campbell's unflattering portrayal. Then again Cinderella is very, very beautiful, how could she be evil?
It was like stepping through into a real fairy tale! Just reading the story, I imagined this story with different characters to make it more relatable to me. I imagined the characters as ones from an anime called Fairy Tail.
The rude, yet caring (about Cinderella that is!) Prince Charming would be the cold, icy Gray Fullbuster. The moment he met Cinderella would have warmed his frozen heart, which I feel, would explain why he was so mean to Anna, when she asked him to dance.
The beautiful drama queen known as Cinderella, would be the original sassy, yet beaming Lucy Heartiffilia. Reading many other stories that have Lucy in them, it would explain how she originally acted towards Anna.
The more beautiful than her sister (as Anna believes!) would be the fierce Erza Scarlet. And The Lord she married of course, would be Gellal Fernandez~
Angus, the poor worker of their family would be the hot-head Natsu Dragneel. It would've been a beautiful story with Anna marrying him, and I think it would've been a very romantic relationship.
And finally, Anna would be Michelle Cocoa. Although Michelle isn't an actual Fairy Tail character, she is a character I made up that fits in very well with many Fairy Tail stories. She has long pink hair, and blue eyes, and although she's beautiful, she doesn't believe it. She spends most of her time pointing out her own faults. And every girl in the kingdom (except her sister) is jealous of Michelle, and they treat her like some hideous beast.
Oh wow, look at myself! I've written so much just for a simple story! But this is a beautiful book, I would defiantly recommend it to a friend.
Of course, there is a different version of the Fairy Tale I put together. Natsu could've been Prince Charming and Gray could've been Angus, but then Rosanne would've been Anna, not Michelle. Rosanne has long grayish-black hair with green eyes.
Anyway, LOVE this Fairy Tail! XD, Ha Ha Ha! I'm so funny! ... No I'm not, I was being sarcastic.
